Vodafone confirms reports that it could make bid for Cable & Wireless Worldwide
Vodafone has confirmed that it is in ‘early stages’ of considering a potential offer for Cable & Wireless Worldwide.
The mobile phone operator had been reported to be weighing up the bid, and has now confirmed the possibility of a potential offer, although it has also underlined that there is ‘no certainty’ that any offer will be made, or on what terms the offer could take.
“Any offer, if made, will be in cash but Vodafone reserves the right to change the specie of consideration. A further announcement will be made in due course, if appropriate,” the company stated.
The Sunday Times reported that the bid could be in the region of £700 million.
