ITV warns Apple not to use ‘iTV’ as name for predicted smart TV set
British broadcaster ITV has written to Apple to warn them not to call the smart TV which the gadget giant is rumoured to be working on ‘iTV’.
According to the Telegraph, ITV chief executive Adam Crozier raised the issue with Apple when he was appointed two years ago, but was promised that it would not take the name.
However, with reports in the biography of Steve Jobs that he was working on something that would “do for television sets what he had done for computers, music players and phones”, the broadcaster is getting worried that under new chief executive Tim Cook the technology company may take a different approach.
