VisitBritain yesterday unveiled its £25 million image campaign, which rolled out across 14 major cities in nine key inbound tourism markets.

The poster campaign, which is running in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan and the US, builds on the GREAT Britain campaign launched by David Cameron in September and will run until March 2013.

VisitBritian said: “This campaign enables us to promote Britain in some of the key global economic powerhouse cities making this the largest ever image campaign that we’ve undertaken, with a view to capitalising on an incredible year of celebration across the country.”

Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt, who launched the campaign yesterday, said: “We are taking the fight for the tourist pound right to our competitors’ doorsteps, with a sales assault on the 14 biggest and most lucrative tourism markets around the world.

“Right across the world, there will be no escape from the message that Britain is great.”
