BBC has today announced the appointment of Channel 4’s commissioning editor of entertainment, David Williams, as the creative director of entertainment North, based in Salford’s Media City.

Williams will work on developing a range of new programmes across all channels, having commissioned Made In Chelsea, Tool Academy, Dirty Sexy Things and Playing It Straight while at Channel 4.

He said: "I am delighted to be joining the team in Entertainment North and playing a part in the fantastically exciting new chapter at Media City."
