Marketing director of Premier Foods, Jon Goldstone, is set to leave this month, following a decision by the company to consolidate its marketing division into its broader commercial structure.

He had been appointed to the role in December 2010.

Goldstone, who is to be replaced by Iwan Williams, MD of grocery and bakery, told the business after the plans were announced that he intends to seek senior marketing opportunities outside of Premier.

Williams said: “Jon has made an outstanding contribution over the four years that he has been with the company, leading our marketing strategy for Hovis before taking on the role of group marketing director.

“He has been responsible for some excellent marketing campaigns, including the award-winning ‘Go on, lad’ Hovis commercial.”

The announcement follows the launch of a £50m campaign for several brands, including ads for Loyd Grossman, Sharwood’s and Hovis.

Premier Foods told The Grocer that Williams and Goldstone had worked closely together to develop the Power Brands strategy behind the campaign.
