The founders of Media Briefing have bought the agriculture and medical portfolios, which include magazines Farmers Guardian and Pulse, from business publisher UBM for £10 million.

The agriculture portfolio is based in Preston and employs 57 staff, while the London-based GP portfolio has 33 staff.

Media magazine Press Gazette reports that the deal to acquire the portfolios, which were last year said to have brought in revenues of £12.1, with Media Briefing founders Neil Thackray and Rory Brown is expected to be completed within the next four to six weeks.

The deal reportedly following investment received by the Media Briefing from GCP Capital Partners.
