A spoof video satirising Britain’s benefits claimants has become an internet hit, generating over 180,000 hits since debuting on Youtube a fortnight ago.

Titled ‘Doreen’s Story’ the four and a half minute clip comprises an interview with the eponymous mum of two who blames a medical condition, “Lazy Cow”, for her life on benefits.

Doreen then goes on to explain how the family use their payments to pay for a Sky TV subscription, car and heroin and cocaine.

Gill Jordan, the actress who plays Doreen in the ‘mocumentary’ said of her broad “yam yam” accent: “I don't think there are enough people on television with a Midlands accent. I'm a great believer in giving it exposure.

"I'm overwhelmed by how successful the video has been."
