A charity fundraising initiative, which invites people to forego their lunch for the day and donate the money saved to homeless people, has been given the intellectual property rights for the catchphrase ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!’

Go Hungry secured the rights after teaming up with creative agency Just Good Ideas and Design Future students from Salford University, who helped secure the rights to use the heavily trademark protected line – first uttered by American ring announcer Michael Buffer.

Adrian Bentley, Creative Director at Just Good Ideas commented, "We think Let's get Ready To Rumble is perfect for Go Hungry, but we weren't prepared to infringe Michael Buffer's IP.

So we approached his people for permission to use it and were thrilled by their swift and positive response."

Bruce Buffer, President & CEO of Buffer Enterprises Inc. commented "We don't usually grant usage rights for LGRTR but we like the cause and are happy to do so under these extraordinary circumstances. We wish the organisers of Go Hungry every success."
