It has been revealed that Littlewoods, the company that was criticised for its Christmas campaign featuring children singing in a panto about the presents their mothers bought them, is searching for an ad agency.

The £9m account was held by Leo Burnett until last April, when the company held a review and decided to handle it inhouse using freelance creatives.

Littlewoods came under fire at Christmas both for the ad, and for allegations of deleting negative comments on Facebook – which the company denied.

Marketers at Littlewoods are now approaching agencies to measure interest.
