Beta of single Government website gov.uk revealed
The beta of the single Government platform which aims to combine all the Government’s websites onto one single site, gov.uk, has today launched.
When clicking on the webpage, a warning flashes up, telling users “This is a test website. It may contain inaccuracies or be misleading. Directgov remains the official website for government information and services.”
In August it was announced that development of the beta site had begun.
It is said that the creation of a single portal would lead to a multi-million pound saving by the public.
