The Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 Organising Committee is to tender for a ticketing agent who will manage ticket sales and distribution for the games.

The successful applicant will be tasked with the design, delivery and management of the ticketing technology, platform and supporting hardware software and communications devices, including managing real-transaction on its online sales site, that will be integrated with the official website.

Other duties will include the receipt and fulfillment of both paper and electronic mail orders, and the implementation of a random selection ballot should tickets for events be oversubscribed.

A call centre operation will also be utilised featuring technology and staff to handle informational and transactional calls in relation to ticketing.

Training and management duties will also be required for customer support staff, alongside the financial management of ticketing transactions.

The budget for the contract is estimated to be between £1,800,000 and £2,300,000, beginning on 1 May 2012 until 31 October 2014.

Around five applicants are expected to be invited to tender for the contract.
