William Eccleshare named CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings

William Eccleshare, CEO of Clear Channel International has been promoted to CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings.

In the role, Eccleshare will oversee both Clear Channel Outdoor Americas and Clear Channel International, and will aim to position the company to allow it to use all of its assets across the globe.

Based in the UK for an interim period, he will later relocate to New York where he will also work with advertisers to develop new marketing strategies through the company’s Digital Networks around the world.

Bob Pittman, executive chairman of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, commented: “William’s experience is the perfect match for the priorities of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings today. His success in building Clear Channel International and taking it to new levels of success, coupled with his experience developing strong relationships with both clients and agencies and his extensive advertising agency background, means that Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings will be able to serve partners with our full range of assets, including digital; learn from experiences in all areas of the world where we operate; and tap the company’s talent around the globe -- enabling us to reinvent how we do business with all of our advertising and marketing partners.”

Meanwhile, Ron Cooper, CEO of Clear Channel’s Americas division will leave the company after assisting with Eccleshare’s transition.
