Vimeo has today announced a redesign of its website, with sign-ups for a closed test of the new design.

Open sign-ups will be available for its members in several weeks.

The new design includes 2x larger full-width player, the ability to play videos from their personal homepage, improved navigation, more account privacy options, and advanced search filters that allow users to better narrow results by relevancy, length, credits, copyright license, and more.

Dae Mellencamp, Vimeo CEO, said: "Vimeo's growth and dedication to maximizing the user experience was the catalyst for this redesign. The result protects the essence of Vimeo while allowing for future growth of audience and features in a simple, intuitive environment."

Sockyung Hong, Vimeo vice president of design and user experience, said: "We completely rethought the user experience to evolve Vimeo into something that meets our users' needs today and tomorrow.

"Our goal was to strike a balance between friendly and elegant while still preserving our fun personality."
