Facebook set to expand Timeline feature with new apps

Facebook is set to expand its Timeline with 60 new apps to be added from brands such as Nike, Rotten Tomatoes and Ticketmaster.

The apps, which currently have over 60 partners, are the latest stage in the development of the Timeline, which can also update any users’ friends.

Apps will be included from companies such Foodspotting, TicketFly, Digg, Ticketmaster, Nike, Gogobot and several others across the food, travel, entertainment and fitness sectors.

UK partners will include Autotrader, Lyst, Soundcloud, Mixcloud and Artfinder.

In announcing the development, Carl Sjogreen, director of product management for Facebook said, "Our vision for Timeline and our vision for the application platform is whatever you love and whatever story you want to tell, you can add that to your Timeline.”
