Tesco has today launched a money off campaign, providing customers who spend over £40 a £5 off voucher to use the following week.

The promotion, which will run until Sunday 22 January, will be backed by a national print advertising campaign created by The Red Brick Road.

Featuring the strapline ‘A helping hand from Tesco’, the campaign is similar to one which Asda ran in 2011 and extended through the Christmas period.

Last week, Tesco reported worse than expected Christmas sales, with chief executive Philip Clarke saying that volume of sales created from The Big Price Drop campaign did not offset the deflation.
