Media news site launches the British Media Awards

Media news site, TheMediaBriefing, has launched a new awards programme - the British Media Awards - for media companies which have shown "the most agile approach to innovating new business models".

The awards, which will be presented at a ceremony on April 26, embrace 15 categories.

Entries must be submitted by March 1 with the awards aiming to "highlight how some of our brightest media business managers are solving the really big questions affecting the industry both online and offline".

The awards judging panel includes Lindsey Roberts, CEO, Informa Business Information; Matt Kelly, publisher, Mirror Group; Ed Roussel, digital editor, Telegraph Media Group; Jim Brown, Round8; Lee Baker, director, AOP; Richard Sambrook, formerly director of global news, BBC; Peter Bale, VP and general manager, CNN International Digital; and Ilicco Elia, head of mobile at LBi

TheMediaBriefing was launched in 2010 by Neil Thackray and Rory Brown, as a media business news and information site which would feature both its own content as well as aggregated reports from third-parties.
