Netflix launches UK ad campaign
American video on demand specialist Netflix has entered the UK market in a direct challenge to Amazon’s LoveFilm.
An ad campaign will premiere this week to coincide with a series of new deals struck with some of Hollywood’s largest studios to provide content.
Netflix are anticipating a tough ride in Britain however, anticipating a period of at least two years before profitability can be achieved.
In part this is due to the stiff competition provided by the likes of YouTube and Tesco’s Blinkbox – as well as LoveFilm.
