The Drum understands that Susan Donald, editor at BBC Scotland, is on the list of editors who will be made redundant as part of a cost saving exercise by the BBC.

In November, it was revealed that the BBC had informed ten editors that they would have to reapply for six positions, with four to be made redundant.

As part of planned budget cuts, 120 jobs at BBC Scotland will be shed by 2017, with 30 of these to be from the news team.

The BBC press office said: “There is a restructuring process under way – which has been reported previously – and consultations are on-going. We do not discuss individual members of staff.”
