Tim Gearey to head up new PR team at Big Communications
Tim Gearey will join Big Communications after leaving his role as managing director of Golley Slater PR.
Yesterday The Drum broke the news of Gearey's exit from Golley Slater, and it has now emerged that he is moving to Midlands rival Big to head up a new PR division.
Gearey, who joins the Leicester agency on Monday (9 January), said: "This is an exciting new venture for Big and there’s huge potential and opportunity to now offer clients a first-class PR service."
Big's managing director, Mike Phillipson, said the advertising and digital agency was moving into PR to meet demand from clients.
"Our clients have an appetite for developing more innovative PR strategies," Phillipson said.
"Bringing in Tim, with his PR pedigree experience and expertise, will enable us to not only help our clients, but to attract new clients as well.”
Gearey spent two and a half years at Golley Slater, heading up its Birmingham and Bristol PR offices and working with clients including Skoda, Hilton and JCB.
Before that he spent 12 years at McCann Erickson in Birmingham, where he rose to become deputy MD.
