Airline KLM has introduced a social media service which will allow its customers to find out about other travellers on their flight.

The ‘Meet and Seat’ service is being developed to allow travellers to link through Facebook and LinkedIn to their check-in information, and then choose their seats by finding other passengers with common interests and business connections.

Travellers who do not wish to participate are also able to decline to make their profiles public.

The service is similar to that of the now defunct AirTroductions, which launched in 2006.
