Updated: Brilliant Media taken over by MediaCom

The Drum can reveal that Brilliant Media has been taken over by MediaCom.

The media buying agency, which has offices in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester, launched in 1999. Chris Broadbent is group managing director for the agency.

The news follows the announcement last month that Brilliant Media picked up £8m worth of new business in recent months.

Updated: MediaCom has said that the transition was effective as of yesterday, with all business and assets acquired.

The agency said in a statement: "The MediaCom Regional network will be further strengthened by the addition of the Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham operations.

"The sale to MediaCom guarantees that Brilliant’s loyal customer base will continue to receive a high level of personalised service across all three offices. Additionally, they will now have the benefit of being part of the wider MediaCom network.

"This transaction will be effective as of 1st December and all bookings from this date forward will be taken over by MediaCom."

The Drum understands that all staff will remain with the agency.
