With voice activated phones and video games now all the rage Apple are looking to branch the technology out to living room stalwart, the TV.

Promising to banish the age old frustration of losing your remote control down the back of the couch forever the tech will allow couch potatoes to channel hop simply by barking at their screen.

So called iTVs (no relation to Britain’s top commercial broadcaster) will also offer internet connectivity and possible gestural commands.

In his official biography, published posthumously, Jobs said: “I’d like to create an integrated TV set that’s completely easy to use with the simplest user interface you could imagine.”

Apple believes it can revolutionise the television industry in the same way it has the phone and music industries with its iPhone and iPod.
