Glasgow City Marketing Bureau has appointed Stripe Communications to provide PR and communications support for its 2011 ‘Glasgow Love Christmas’ campaign.

The annual festive campaign is run by GCMB, alongside many private and public partners such as Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life, the Greater Glasgow Hotels Association, Glasgow Restaurant Association, Argyll Arcade, Buchanan Galleries, Hamleys, Frasers, John Lewis, Princes Square and the St Enoch Centre, promoting the city as a shopping destination.

Stripe has been tasked in supporting the national TV, radio, outdoor and online media campaign, including an app and the campaign website.

Tom Rice, head of marketing at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, explained: “Stripe’s role is to co-ordinate campaign communications and amplify our destination marketing activity for Glasgow Loves Christmas to encourage visitors to the city in this crucial trading period.”

Juliet Simpson, managing director of Stripe Communications, added: “Glasgow has a fantastic story to tell this festive season – more partners than ever before joining the campaign and a really strong shopping and entertainment offering. We’ll be spreading the word that Glasgow is the place to be this Christmas through a proactive PR programme.”
