Having announced a competition offering 50 pairs of first-class pyjamas and luxury amenity kits, Quanta Airlines has been flooded by angry Twitter posts.

The competition was announced by the Australian airline yesterday with followers asked 'What is your dream luxury inflight experience?” By 3pm in the afternoon #QuantaLuxury was trending, as many previous passengers tweeted their grievances with the company.

The airline is currently in dispute with its workers which could see its services disrupted, which was one topic highlighted by some of the tweets.

One tweet read; "giving yourself a pay rise whilst grounding your whole airline and taking local jobs offshore".

While another read: "#QantasLuxury is sitting in your first-class lounge chair, watching a failed social media campaign get out of control.”

The company continued with the competition, tweeting as though oblivious to come of the sniping; "Wow! Some very creative tweeps out there. Keep the entries coming," it tweeted although it did admit; β€œAt this rate our #QantasLuxury competition is going to take years to judge,” at the level of comments it had received.

The competition was still underway at the time of writing.
