Wowcher releases app to engage mobile consumers

An app to promote daily deal website Wowcher has launched, allowing users to buy the site’s deals using their smartphones.

Developed by Chelsea Apps Factory, the Wowcher app offers users up to 8-% off daily deals, and is free-to-download from iTunes.

Recently, the London development agency has also produced apps for Vodafone and the Kennel Club.

Vodafone tasked the agency with creating an exclusive augmented reality based Android app to coincide with an event at the Tate Britain which would bring paintings at the event to life, with users pointing their phones toward the art before hearing the story behind them.

Meanwhile, the Kennel Club Puppy Buying Guide has been created for Android to offer prospective dog owners information on buying a dog, including a checklist to allow buyers and breeders to ensure they find the right dog, and tips on looking after puppies during the first few weeks.

Chelsea Apps has also appointed Steve Sweales, former project manager at T-Mobile as a project manager at the agency where he will be responsible for managing new App development projects.
