Ponderosa Communications Group has been established, bringing together a number of agencies in Leeds, including Ponderosa, Prego, Digital Welly and Sixteen Hands.

Ponderosa Group sees former An Agency Called England managing director Richard Midgley work alongside Steve Henry, founder of Prego and Digital Welly and Julia Mulligan, founder of Sixteen Hands to expand their combined service offering.

Henry will take up the role of chief executive of the group.

“Richard and I have known each other for 20 years and after working on campaigns informally together for major brands over the last 12 months, we decided to formalise the partnership with a new strategic agency offer Ponderosa Communications Group,” commented Henry.

“With consumer spending increasingly under pressure it is paramount that brands work harder. Clients are demanding no compromise on expertise and a solution that goes beyond the traditional integrated agency model.”

Richard Midgley, managing director of Ponderosa Communications Group, added: “The continuing fragmentation of the media landscape has dramatically increased the importance of clear brand positioning and communication. Our new group approach directly focuses on harnessing the traditional power of brands creating an ownable, creative and compelling platform based on robust consumer insight.

“This core insight is then delivered through the channels by our teams of experts ensuring the client’s business objectives are always surpassed.”

Prego, Digital Welly and Sixteen Hands will continue to operate independently and as divisions of The Ponderosa Communications Group, and will have 30 staff in total, based in Leeds.
