blippar has created a campaign for beer brand Heineken to promote its Green Spheres Weekender music event in Ireland.

The advert, which ran in the Irish Metro Herald, was created to raise awareness of the event before tickets go on sale on Friday, and featured a promotional video containing exclusive content of the artists playing at the weekend, which takes place on 1-3 December.

Ambarish Mitra, CEO at blippar, said: “The Metro Herald’s readers match the demographic Heineken was trying to reach for its Green Spheres Weekender event, and many of them were familiar with blippar from our work with the paper earlier in the year.

“We saw a tremendous response from readers, above the usual level for our campaigns, which demonstrates how our technology can really drive engagement and create a buzz for brands looking to reach a mass audience.”
