Facebook has reinstated its old chronological News Feed format following criticism by users over the introduction of a new format in September.

The social networking giant introduced a new layout which would highlight the ‘most important’ updates within a user’s friends timeline updates, which led to much criticism from users who seems to be happy with the timeline that was already available.

The news feeds will allow the most recent stories first through the introduction of a ‘sort’ button which will allow users to choose to view either ‘highlighted’ stories or ‘most recent stories’ first.

The site also aims to help those who do not use the site on a daily basis, who will also be able to see updates from family and close friends, with the site choosing to highlight what it finds users to be most interested in.
