Telenor Group has unveiled a 3D advertising campaign with Green Cave People, which aims to highlight the brand values of the global telecoms company.

The 2.5minute 3D ad will run online and at special screenings, while a specially adapted 3D version has been created for the iPad. A 2D version of the film will be broadcast on TV in European and Asian markets in early 2012.

Using the strapline ‘Built Around People’, the film, shot on three continents and featuring real Telenor employees, shows the features of Telenor’s mobile platforms, such as its anti-bullying filter.

Anne-Gro Gulla, vice-president of marketing communications at Telenor, said: “To define who we are as a company around the world, we have commissioned a simple and, I believe, very powerful campaign idea. Unlike other players in our industry, we are truly ‘built around people’. This new film brings this idea to life in an epic 3D way. Using only our own people as models also adds to the truth of our message.”

Malcolm Green at Green Cave People, said: “This was an opportunity for us to step way outside our comfort zone by writing and directing in 3D. It was an epic production, shot across different continents in a variety of extreme climate conditions. It’s always challenging to film ‘real’ employees, but to do so with people from 11 different countries can be even tougher. The level of detail involved in making this campaign was incredible, but hugely enjoyable.”
