Ticketmaster is launching a new UK website, tmDeals, offering consumers ticket deals across every aspect of entertainment.
The move brings it into competition with Daily Deals behemoths such as Groupon - although given the latter’s recent woes Ticketmaster’s timing could be worse. And Chris Edmonds, managing director Ticketmaster UK, believes his company’s reputation and focus solely on entertainment deals will stand it in good stead.
“We are in the ideal position to be able to offer consumers great deals on tickets to a wide range of events,” said Edmonds. “Given the strength of our digital infrastructure and consumer database resources, we can tailor our service to match each and every fan's needs, setting us apart from the competition.”
Consumers are able to sign up to one of seven localised weekly emails specific to their area, to receive more targeted deals. Deals can also be accessed via Twitter and Facebook.
