Twitter users are being offered the chance to become part of a new permanent exhibition at the National Media Museum in Bradford.

As part of the exhibition about the history and social impact of the internet, the museum will turn one wall in its gallery into a giant mosaic made up of the profile pictures of its Twitter followers.

To become part of the mosaic Twitter users simply need to follow the @museummosaic account by 11 November.

Tom Woolley, curator of new media at the museum, told The Drum the aim was to attract 14,000 followers so that every picture on the wall is unique.

He said: "The Life Online exhibition will show how the internet has become as an essential part of everyday lives.

"But it's not just about the technology. We want to show that it is the people that make it what it is and we think the mosaic will be a colourful way to do that."
