The National Theatre of Scotland has announced a 12 month partnership with Blipfoto, following the success of previous collaboration ‘Unstaged’.

The theatre company will use the photo-sharing website to share the daily buzz of its touring life and engage further with its audiences.

Blipfoto, which allows users to share a photo a day, will again work closely with the National Theatre of Scotland, offering "Blippers" the chance to win prizes, gain access to the performances, see behind the scenes and have their photography featured on the National Theatre of Scotland’s literature.

Joe Tree, founder and CEO of Blipfoto, said: “Following the great success of our previous partnership, we are sure that this new collaboration with the National Theatre of Scotland will hugely add to the experience of our users and members - not just in Scotland, but around the world.

“The National Theatre of Scotland is different to other theatres. With no theatre building of its own it is free to share its productions with a diverse audience and collaborate with interesting partners and communities. Likewise, Blipfoto is different to other social networks. Our quickly growing community is one that encourages new relationships to flourish rather than mimicking the relationships that we already have. This makes it the perfect stage for National Theatre of Scotland to share their world and engage with our diverse community.”

A spokesperson for the National Theatre of Scotland added: “It's extremely exciting to be continuing our collaboration with Blipfoto. We continually aim to develop new and innovative partnerships accross the cultural sector. Working with Blipfoto is an excellent way of opening the doors of the National Theatre of Scotland to a whole new audience.”
