The RAC is understood to be recruiting a new marketing department as it relocates it's headquarters to Bristol.

Following the announcement last week that RAC is relocating from Norwich, a source has told The Drum that the majority of the current workforce is refusing to move.

The Aviva-owned company announced in June that it was looking at alternative property options for future employees in Norwich, but reached the conclusion that while it could support Norwich as one of its operational sites in the short-term, it had capacity in its existing RAC-owned locations in Bristol and Bescot (Walsall).

A spokesperson for the company told The Drum: “This was a very difficult decision but we believe that locating employees to these core existing sites will enhance our service delivery to members.

“Our priority now is to provide every assistance we can to those employees affected by these proposals - either by way of financial support if they wish to relocate with their current role or to secure an alternative role within the Aviva Group by the end of April 2012.

“I do not have any further information.”

At the time of writing, there was only six vacancies advertised on the RAC’s website, and none of these were for marketing positions.
