The average Briton will spend six years of their life, on average, with a mobile phone glued to their hand – according to research conducted by phone website

The figure was determined by extrapolating an average of 18 mins calling, 25 min texting and 11min spent online each day over the course of a lifetime.

Every year, it is estimated, the average Briton spends the equivalent of two days each on Facebook and Twitter whilst one and a half days are expended on both emailing and playing games.

Hannah Bouckley, of phone website, said: “People have become inseparable from their mobiles.

“Six years is the same amount of time it takes to train to be a doctor.”
