The Westpac Group appoints MediaCom Australia to $70m media account

The Westpac Group has appointed MediaCom Australia to its $70m media buying and planning account.

The appointment included a pitch process involving incumbent OMD, Aegis and Universal McCann, and will see MediaCom handle the strategy, planning and buying across all of Westpac Group companies, such as St George, Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA.

Toby Jenner, CEO of MediaCom, commented: “We're delighted that MediaCom and MediaCompete have been successful against such strong competition; it shows just how far we've come over the last two years and half years.“

The new contract will not include online search, and begins in December for a period of three years.
