Webinar will explore how clients can get better results from sales promotions

A FREE MiNetwork webinar next week will reveal the findings of a recent research report into why so many clients fail to get the results they want from their online and offline sales promotions.

More than £36bn was spent on sales promotions in 2009/2010, driven in part by customers becoming more demanding and using the web to research their purchases. However, the recent research report published by marketing agency Delineo reveals a significant proportion of this investment was wasted as a result of bad practice.

The objective of Delineo’s research was identify best and worst practise in the field of offline and online sales promotion integration, assessing whether the customer journey was consistent, logical and intuitive across different media platforms.

Delineo used 19 metrics to analyse 50 custoemrs journey for brands including Bang & Olufsen, Boots, British Gas, Barratt Homes,, HSBC,, Pets At Home, Red Letter Days, Timberland and many more.

According to the report: “In a large majority of cases, people working in agencies or marketing departments fall into different camps – those who understand digital marketing and those who don’t, those who understand traditional marketing and those who don’t. As a consequence, the customer journey across offline and online media is often plagued with inconsistencies, undermining a fundamental requirement of effecting marketing communication.

“So what should the ‘ideal’ customer journey look like? How do you avoid losing your customers? How can you make your sales promotion effective across offline and online media platforms?”

In this webinar Delineo’s Managing Director Nick Melvin will present key findings from the report 'Are your customers losing their way?' and Redrow’s Group Sales and Marketing Director Kim Peters will provide insight from a clientside perspective.
