This month will see advertising charity NABS ask agencies across the North West of England and Scotland to devise their own ways of raising funds.

Through out October – NABS is asking agencies to find ways of generating money to donate to the charity, having itself recently held two canvas auctions in both Edinburgh and Manchester, generating thousands of pounds in the process.

One event will include a Music Quiz, last year won by BJL, which will take place on the evening of 13 October at Photolink in Ardwick, hosted by Mark Gorman.

The event is being sponsored by Global Radio.

Meanwhile, a letter of support has been sent to agencies across Scotland as a rallying call from NABS head of regional development, Kate Harris, who has said that the charity is receiving more calls for help than ever before, while less funds are being donated.

“Once again in Scotland, we are facing an imbalance between funds raised and support given. To date, we have raised just over £5,000 and spent just over £30.000,” she explained.

As a result, she has asked for companies to each attempt to raise £100 or more for the charity during October through events, and highlights possibilities such as a table football tournament or an agency ‘Bake-off’ as possible ideas.

Meanwhile, each organisation has also been asked to appointed an Ambassador for NABS, who would co-ordinate any efforts.
