Senior management at The Daily Record and Sunday Mail will consult with the NUJ about the future roles of seven journalists at the paper.

The seven are the final members of staff still under consultation following the announcement by publisher Trinity Mirror that around 90 would be made redundant at the company’s Glasgow base.

This number was lowered to 85, with the NUK able to negotiate the final seven being retained until the end of September while the newspapers considered whether there was still a need for them across both papers, says Holdthefrontpage.

Over fifty members of staff has left the titles under the redundancy process so far.

A meeting, including Scottish NUJ organizer Paul Holleran will be held today with management to discuss the roles still at risk, said to include two page designers, two reports and three sub editors.
