E.ON has appointed Daren Carter as its new head of marketing communications for its Energy Solutions business.

Carter started his career at Akzo Nobel and had spells at Ronseal, Barclays and Norwich Union where he spent a decade in roles including partnership marketing and brand and promotions director.

He replaces Catherine Woolfe who joined E.ON in 2007 as head of advertising and brand strategy before becoming head of marketing communications earlier this year. She has left to become marketing director at Collect+.

Jeremy Davies, marketing director for E.ON's Energy Solutions business, said: “The role of head of marketing comms within our newly formed Energy Solutions business is a challenging and varied one.

"The energy industry continues to evolve at a fast pace with new opportunities and threats present at every turn. I’m delighted to welcome Daren on board as our business moves towards delivering cleaner and better energy for our customers."
