Glossy fashion magazine Marie Claire is to launch a new bi-annual which it claims will be "an indispensible guide to the new season trends" for women.

Marie Claire Runway will launch in January 2012 in both digital and print formats, with a cover price of £6. It will capture the "glitz and glamour of the international collections," according to its publishers.

Justine Southall, Marie Claire's new publishing director, said: "We’ve developed Marie Claire to deliver an even more premium proposition, which combined with our investment and development plans gives us the strongest magazine brand offering for our upmarket audience.”

Marie Claire is planning a range of further developments for next year. These include new app launches, increased mobile content and a redesign of its website. Its magazine will move to a larger format with more editorial pages.
