Adrian Hosford, former director of customer communication and brand marketing for BT, has joined Social & Local as a non-executive director.

Hosford has joined the social enterprise with responsibility for helping the development of the business and will advise the team on marketing strategies that will allow its clients to align their business objective with CSR.

As well as his work with BT which ended in 2009, where he masterminded campaign featuring the Beattie family with Maureen Lipman and ‘It’s good to talk’ with Bob Hoskins, Hosford has also held senior positions at 23red, where he worked with Social & Local founder Stephanie Drakes, who was managing director of 23red Regions.

Hosford said: “I have been long convinced of the power of effective communication to make a positive impact on society, it is surprising that the highly talented marketing communication sector, who live by communicating, has not attempted to make any positive impact itself as part of the way it does business. Now with Social & Local that is all changed and I am proud to support a new style of agency that puts social responsibility at the heart of its operation.”
