American Express has launched ‘Amex Be Inspired’, a new initiative to encourage Brits to celebrate what inspires them and in turn, help young people realise their potential.

The UK-wide campaign asks people to share their inspirations via a dedicated 'Be Inspired' Facebook page and Twitter feed.

For each inspiration shared, American Express will donate 50p to The Prince’s Trust, allowing the nation’s passions to tangibly inspire and help others.

The campaign is being championed by celebrities including Kevin Spacey, Gemma Arterton, Jamelia, and Dermot O’Leary.

The campaign comes at a time when around one in five young people living in the UK are struggling to find a job - 40 per cent of whom have been without a job for more than six months.

“The vital funds raised by this initiative will enable The Prince’s Trust to run grassroots projects across the UK, including a series of music and film themed ‘Be Inspired’ workshops to give vulnerable young people the support they need to move into the workplace,” said Martina Milburn, chief executive of The Prince’s Trust.

Raymond Joabar, UK Managing Director from American Express adds:

“With this campaign we are hoping to harness the power of social media to tap into people’s passions and raise money for The Prince’s Trust, a charity which shares our belief in the power of the arts to motivate and inspire young people. The workshops will provide an essential stepping stone to helping these young people realise their full potential.”
