Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games seeks head of media

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games organising committee is to create the new role of head of media, a role that will see it implement co-ordinated communication and media strategies.

The committee has begun the recruitment process to fill the role that will see the successful candidate implement a news management strategy as well as a media relations programme that will build relations with key media outlets to ensure their support for the Games across domestic and international media.

They will be tasked with developing strategies to engage key audiences while also planning strategic campaign, media launches, promotional events and briefing Games partners.

A media team will also be recruited and managed by the successful candidate, who will chair games partner communication meetings and develop and execute relevant procurement plans for media services.

Applications for the role are being accepted until 29 September.

Meanwhile, the organising committee has also announced that David Grevemberg has been appointed as its new chief executive.
