Conference and event management agency Glasgows has announced that it has been selected to produce the 2011 Turner Prize ceremony.

The ceremony will be held at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead: only the second time that it has taken place outside of London.

The Preston based agency will be offering technical and audiovisual support to BALTIC.

George Thompson, head of business development at Glasgows, said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic that Glasgows have been awarded this contract. It’s a tremendously high profile and prestigious event and the whole team are very excited.”

The Turner Prize exhibition opens on 21 October at BALTIC and the ceremony takes place on 5 December. It will be televised on Channel 4.
