Carlsberg aims to encourage drinkers to 'Get Behind England' with Facebook campaign

A campaign to promote Carlsberg as the official beer brand for the Uefa Euro 2012 tournament, as well as it England Football Team, is set to launch.

Created by Billington Cartmell, the ‘Get behind England’ campaign will invite on-and-off trade consumers to visit the Carlsberg Facebook page, where they are able to upload images of themselves which can been added behind the England Players.

A coupon can also be downloaded to enter to win a free round of Carlsberg at their local pub.

The campaign will run across packs, POS, national press and outdoor during the the ‘Be the Difference’ campaign, which aims to encourage England fans to back their team during games.

Tom Lamb, group account director for Billington Cartmell, explained: “England’s fans are louder, prouder and more passionate than any other fans on earth. The team’s hopes don’t rest solely on 23 players in the squad but on the nation’s 26 million adults. This campaign aims to involve as many as possible and shows how, with Carlsberg’s help, the fans can Be the Difference”.
