Jonathan Ross has brought 4.6m viewers with him in his transfer from BBC1 to ITV1 according to the first viewing figures for The Jonathan Ross Show.

Broadcast on Saturday at 21:45 the show drew an audience share of around 21% - the largest of any channel at that time.

The how might have transferred to a new home but producers aren’t taking any risks with the formula , opting to keep continuity with the original.

In their review the Metro Online said: “"Minus the Four Poofs and a Piano and the bright violet colours, the show if anything looks classier, but the content is almost identical to its BBC predecessor.”

Ross was aided in his ratings by a guest line-up that included Sarah Jessica Parker, Adele and Lewis Hamilton.

Ross drew an average of 3.1m viewers in his BBC One slot with his finale drawing an identical 4.6m.
