London 2012 Olympic mascots join The Beano
London 2012 Olympic mascot Wenlock and Paralympic mascot Mandeville are to feature in a special edition of The Beano this week.
The paid will appear in the latest edition of the comic, in a specially created story in which they learn how to swim.
They will also feature in further issues in the lead up to the Games next Summer, learning different sports featured in the Olympics and Paralympics, in the time.
Seb Coe, LOCOG chair, said: ‘This is another exciting way that we are bringing the mascots’ experiences of meeting new people and trying new sports to millions of young people across the UK. This is a creative way to engage children in the Olympic and Paralympic values.’
The Mascots were designed by Iris and unveiled last year, during which time they have appeared at several Olympic events and have were digitised into interactive big screen games, such as ‘Super Trampoline’ in July.
