Shane Bissett appointed as director of commemorative coin

Shane Bissett has been appointed as director of commemorative coin at the Royal Mint.

Bissett will be involved in developing the Royal Mint’s offering to become more relevant and engaging with consumers, as well as enhancing the commercial proposition of the commemorative coin business unit.

He will also oversee the development of The Royal Mint brand strategy and official state medals business.

Adam Lawrence, chief executive at the Royal Mint, said: “Shane is a key addition to our team and will take a central role in developing the Royal Mint’s customer proposition and overall brand strategy. He will also help lead on our ambitions to expand further into international markets including the US.

“He joins at a time when we have a number of key launches coming up, including our range of Olympic and Diamond Jubilee commemorative coins. We are delighted to welcome him to the Royal Mint as a new member of the executive team.”
