Scottish Borders partnership to research creative industry in south of Scotland
Scottish Borders Council has tasked social and economic development research organisation Ekos with growing knowledge of the creative sector in the South of Scotland.
The company has been tasked by the South of Scotland Creative Enterprise Initiative, a partnership between Scottish Borders, the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Association and the South of Scotland Alliance with researching the creative sector in the region, as it aims to offer a £100,000 initiative to support those working within it.
The funding aims to support creative individuals and micro enterprises to develop their business potential and had developed a framework for creative enterprises in the south, as well as an 18 month programme of how to use the funding.
This research will conduct a parallel programme that will consolidate and add to the knowledge of the creative industry in the south of Scotland and help the partnership effectively target its actions.
The budget for the project is £23,925 and saw 16 offers received during the tender process before the appointment of Ekos.
