Student organisation UCAS has launched a mobile app created by Rippleffect to help university hopefuls.

The UCAS Connect app for iPhones, Android and Nokia handsets follows the launch of the new UCAS Connect website, also created by Rippleffect, which intends to be a "one-stop shop for anyone thinking about higher education".

It provides tips, frequently asked questions and video guides, as well as access to UCAS’s interactive search tool.

Beth Hayes, who oversees the project as part of UCAS’ Online Experience team said: “The UCAS Connect app provides instant help at the touch of a phone screen, allowing us to reach busy people at a time that suits them. Applicants can get the answers they need without having to call, which is especially valuable to international students.”

The free app can be downloaded from the Android Market, Apple’s App Store, and Nokia’s Ovi store.
